William Mulhall first came to prominence in the 1970s with his original art work for Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin were so impressed with his work that Mulhall was invited to sit with the band on stage at their now classic concert in the Belfast Hall on March 5th 1971. "When I met them, they were still just shy lads. They asked me to come along and sit up on the stage." Illustrated, feature articles on his life and art have appeared in Mojo, Guitarist, NME, Hot Press,Sunday Tribune, Business Plus, New York Art Guide. and on RTE Radio One's Rattlebag.

 

 

Bono has signed a portrait of himself by Mulhall which was an item at the 2002 Concern Charity Auction. The painting, which had been bought previously by a gallery patron, was donated to the auction where Bono saw it and agreed to sign it in order to increase it's value at auction.
William Mulhall has come out in support of Bono's battle to cancel Third World Debt. Speaking to ApolloGallery.ie, the top Rock artist who counts Seamus Heaney, Fay Weldon and Bob Dylan amoungst his artistic friends said, 'Bono is showing that Art is stronger than politics.

 William Mulhall, or rather his Art, has made it's music video debut thanks to Jon Bon Jovi.
