This painting shows the stage that Dylan will perform on. In the shadows we glimpse a cowboy hat which represents the spirit of Bob Dylan

Rolling stones legend Ron Wood joined Bob Dylan and his band on stage in Kilkenny He acted as jester, cajoling the crowd to sing along and at one point made Dylan smile with his funny remarks and energy Here Dylan takes a break from singing to blow a few trademark bars on his trusty harmonica

Dylan looks to the side, his lips pursed as if to make a cryptic comment as Mulhall sketches him

This picture shows the rack of guitars which Bob Dylan will use when he performs his classic songs Lined up together they look like a modern sculpture full of colour and form

This picture depicts the excitment of the fans as Bob Dylan arrives in Kilkenny for his Irish show

This is the definite portrait of Bob Dylan by William Mulhall It combines all the observations and inspirations that William gathered during his encounter with this legendary poet and musician For William, the words come first and so he fades the guitar out of the picture allowing Bob to take his place in the Valhalla of writers such as Shakespere and WB Yeats It is a unique image of a man who will not be photographed or filmed but welcomed an Irish painter into his circle to capture him for enternity

Bob Dylan arrives at Nowlan Park When he did, he went straight to a side exit where thirty local kids were waiting, hoping to catch a glimpse of the legend Instead, Dylan walked up to them, had a chat, then led them in past security and escorted them to the main arena where they watched the concert as his guests

I feel that Bob Dylan walks through a crowd sweeping it with his internal radar His eyes are downcast, fixed on some invisible point, yet he takes everything Here he walks towards the stage as the roar of the crowd grows in his ears
